I just picked up a '97 CSE, which has Harman Kardon speakers (according to the rear speaker grilles) and the same head unit as my '98 CSE. The front speakers work, but when I switch the fader to the rear, all I get is some very tinny tweeters. I pulled the amp under the front seat (which is a Saab 4518916 amp), and swapped it with the amp out of my '98 (which is a Harmon Kardon amp) and I got a real increase in bass out of both front and rear, but no rear mid-range.
So, does the '97 have the wrong amp (and are my rear speakers 1/2 shot) or do I need to replace the amp with the Saab 4518916 amp?
