Front End Noise - any ideas Posted by 2 Saabs [Email] (#765) [Profile/Gallery] (more from 2 Saabs) on Fri, 19 Sep 2014 11:45:17 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
I've been wrenching on my car all summer and have fixed a bunch of stuff and I cannot find the reason my car sounds like you are going over railroad tracks or a wooden bridge on bumpy roads. The noise is mainly on the right side. No issues with the steering. My shocks/struts are old Bilstein twin tubes and pass the bounced test and my motor mounts do not separate when you pry up on the oil pan. I have replaced the following:
Tie rods ends, ball joints, bushing caps, all front end bushings (stock not poly), sway bar links and bushings and new poly transmission mount. Also, I have tightened up every bolt under the car that I could find.
The upper motor mounts are poly and lower rear motor mount is hydraulic (30k miles old). The oldest mount is the lower front.
Could my noise be the struts, strut bearings or motor mounts?
1993 9000 CSE NA with 5 manual speed.
