When I replaced my water pump, I found that one of the bolts holding the A/C compressor was broken off; I drilled into this bolt and used an "easy out", it came out quite easily. Since the three mounting holes are up top, you have good access to them and should be able to drill out the holes to the proper size to accommodate a Heli-Coil or Time Sert, as DanaH suggested - one of these will actually provide a better grip for a bolt than just the naked aluminum head.
Tip: Put some tape around the drill bit at the proper length and make sure that you don't drill too far into the cylinder head, or you will have a much larger problem.
