1994 9000CS non-turbo automatic. 155,000 miles

For the last four weeks I have been having a no-start problem with the car after it sits for awhile. Engine cranks fine, plenty of voltage. Jumper the fuel pump and it runs. Pull the 5amp fuse wait 5 seconds put it back in and turn the ignition to on and the fuel pump runs for a few seconds. I have already tried swapping the fuel pump and fuel injection relays around.
Crankshaft sensor reads correct ohms.
Just now the car would not start where my wife works. I got there and tried to start it. Turns over but no start. Pulled the 5amp fuse, put it back in and the fuel pump does prime.
Wiggled the auto shifter in Park. Still no start. Put it in neutral. Still no start. Wiggled it in neutral and the car started.

Not sure if that made it start or it just decided to start due to some other issue.

Could it be the neutral safety switch? It was replaced 105,000 miles ago, or does it sound like an ignition switch? This problem comes and goes.
Any help or advice is appreciated.
