most of the time wheel spin will slow you down.
I sometimes had this 2000rpm bog problem with my viggen, but not with my 9000 cars.
this is caused because you are not going fast enough when you are dropping the clutch into 2nd, most probably because you do not have sticky enough tires.
Get yourself some Pilot Sport tires and try not to slip them much which will be easier cause they are very good, you will be much faster and will not have the 2nd gear bog problem.
(plan to replace your clutch and flywheel and transmission)
I have had a pressure plate crack into pieces, another time the springs came out of the disk as it came apart, (and it locked the tranny onto the spline. I had to use a winch to get the tranny off, and yes I have pictures)
eventually you will have to replace your 2nd gear syncros.
