Ok, so you're referring to the lower spring seat? Attached is an image of what you'll get as the strut from anyone other than koni. The lower spring seat is welded on, not threaded on.
yes you are correct about what I was referring to: the upper spring seat would be just below the bearing (not the same part) and is attached to the strut shaft with the same nut.
