Generally epoxy does not adhere well to HDPE let alone gasoline. If the crack is on the bottom I don't think there's much hope.
I had a tank strap fail on my 98 last spring. It took about a quarter mile before I figured out what was going on. Meanwhile the road wore a hole in the tank. Full tank, had to call the FD, get flatbedded home. I turned my 96 into a parts car to get the tank.
