NADA vs. KBB... Posted by PGAero [Email] (#1143) [Profile/Gallery] (more from PGAero) on Thu, 18 Dec 2014 09:55:12 In Reply to: classic, SMP, Wed, 17 Dec 2014 12:56:15 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
I just checked, because I'm curious.
NADA: $4,500-$10,800, depending on condition.
KBB: $900-$1,400, depending on condition.
Quite a difference. For an Aero, I think that NADA is high, and KBB is low.
I'd gladly pay $4-6K for a VERY nice Aero. I also wouldn't pay $900 for some of the ones I see advertised.
As with any car that is aging and has a bit of a cult following, the used pricing guides miss the mark considerably. I think a conversation with your insurance agent is prudent. I guess you'd have to go with declared/agreed/fixed value if you want anything in writing though. They skated all over when I asked how my SPG would be evaluated. ("We look at comparable cars in the local area." Right, there are exactly ZERO of those, and there have been ZERO of those since I bought it!)
It's a tough question.
