I think that Dana is referring to the front control arm front bushing cap - see picture - on either end of the bushing. These are hard to see but crack and the suspension will then make a noise like a bad ball joint.
The subframe bushings are all accessible from below, located in the four corners of the subframe and where the two sides attach to each other in the corners. Be careful not to overtighten them, as you can strip out the "captive nuts" that are under the carpet.
