Yeah u hear what your saying, I dont know the excact psi the thing has but I hear boosting in upwards of 26+ in a c900 the transmission can't take the torque and the and the chain running over the sprocket linked to the clutch input shaft will literally chew the lower sprocket in the trans up. Where as the chain will spin around the lower sprocket shearing off all its teeth.
It's why I never exceeded 20 psi in a c900. This car dose boost harder than my C900 but I wouldn't think it's over 26psi being I'm a very spirited driver with it and haven't chewed up the transmission. mostly because I have crappy tires in it and they chewed up instead of the transmission. But Im sure the previous owners had tires where they didn't spin and the transmission is fine.
Talking about having a Saab turned up to 30+ psi I'd call it BS
Even if there was a 9000 up at 30psi it would serve no purpose because of how easily mine will spin out after the clutch is fully released and I'm guessing it's just over 20. Having a little wider tires and a tad under pressure to keep the car from spinning is just asking for a tran's issue at the boost im running & my spirited driving style. Now equip these tires on a 30+ psi car "bull chit" the trans will pop in a heart best.
I understand what your talking about with the boot and it's going to be an issue, being I had the oem boot on the c900 blow off at 20psi and it's clamped down with 4 hoes clamps. 'What am I going to do about The 9000, hair spray sounds good :) I'm fu*ked I know
I've had this car for what now... 3 months and blew the boot, maybe that's what this car dose to all of its owners because the psi is turned up so high (Constantly blowes the boot)
This new blue boot comming I'll have to do what RayF metioned and wrap copper wire around it to the boot to keep it from expanding under boost. Freaken guy is wise no dought about it (thanks for the idea RayF)
