It might be headgasket time, the OEM factory fill was "eviromnmental" formula that went extremely acidic by 40 K and nearly engine part terminal buy *) if left alone. If the 30K service was missed the gasket erroded near the coolant passages and eventually combustion gasses reach the coolant: hence blowing hose, rad end tank and super heating the coolant to where no fan can cool it down. Ther are co chem testers for combustion gasses in the coolant tank. buy one or find a shop that does this. might save time in the long run. you could also leave a coolant pressure tester on during running and watch for excessive pressures, f auto, load in drive a bit. 91 through 97 was the defective creme soda colored Saab Factory fill. It ruined many a 2.1 litre Model 900 heads and blocks. 1998 saw the return of the dark blue Saab coolant that is still available aftermarket today, Accra uses a simulator formula, as does Mercedes benz with out the blue dyr.
