Does the entire black plastic housing wobble, or only the internal mirror portion? There are definitely tension springs that hold the black plastic housing in place, not sure about the internals of the mirror.
My mirror was clipped off by a FedEx truck a few months ago, replaced the entire thing with a unit bought on Ebay (OEM unit not available new); this has a aspherical mirror which can cause confusion to drivers not used to it (i.e. the other driver of my car).
Note that if you change out the mirror assembly, you will need to take the inner door panel off to swap the plug for the motors.
