I've been having an electrical dropout that starts about 45 minutes into driving. Usually only drive 20 min to work so usually only happens when I drive longer, but sometimes it does it even more often. My dropout originally seemed like the radio dropping out & seeing tach bounce but at night saw lights were blinking off. I swapped ignition switches and seemed to fix for awhile but then started again. Called long time independent dealer & they said it could be instrument cluster & could leave me stranded, got one @ junkyard but need to make sure compatible years, for ex. I have a '93 & they said only '92 & '93. I have '92 cluster in the trunk. I cleaned all grounds in engine compartment & snugged up inside ground (bottom windshield driver's side) since cluster has 40K miles more than I have & you can't roll back per indy. So far the cleaning of grounds seems to be working, a little different than yours issue but is all I know.
