I don't think the epoxy will do it. The brake light bulbs are two-filament and have two spring tongues pushing up from below, and they draw so much current they get hot and soften or melt the plastic the outer shell is mounted in.
The fix is, drill two holes in the backboard one just either side of the socket, and run a length of wire (not used electrically but as a tie) from a point on a side of the bulb socket, where you solder it, out one hole, in the other and to a point on other side of bulb socket where you solder it again.
It keeps the bulb holder right down tight where it belongs. No further trouble.
