Still trying to track down the no-start problem on my '95 CSE. Ari's checklist shows the ECU not coming online. (Check Engine light goes out after a few seconds with the ignition on.)
I've tried cleaning battery connections, cleaned the ECU ground, reseated the ECU connector, and tried the battery out of my '97 which is known to work. Still no joy. So it appears that either the ECU itself has gone bad or there's some wiring problem affecting ECU power.
A quick and easy test would be to temporarily swap another ECU, and I also have a '97 9000. Both cars are automatic transmission CSE models - but of course the '95 is a non-OBD-II car, doesn't have the 2nd O2 sensor, etc. Is the '97 ECU sufficiently compatible that it would start and run the engine in the 1995 model?
I've done some searching here and so far have only determined that the '95 is a one-year-only ECU. (Prior years have no fan control, later units are OBD-II.)
