I had an electrical dropout for years but didn't matter if AC was on or not. Tach, radio, & lights flicker at night. It seemed to start 45 minutes into driving, usual commute to work 20 min so didn't happen often but when it did it seemed to drop out every 5 min or so. I swapped out electrical part of ignition switch and it stopped for awhile then came back. I tightened ground @ base of windshield on drivers side (need to take dash top off it's not very hard) it was tight but snugged another 1/8 - 1/4 turn, stopped for awhile & then came back. Called indy & they said it could be instrument cluster. I got one @ junkyard, they are year specific, I have a '93 & they said only '92, '93 compatible (& maybe '91 can't remember now). Since it has more miles than on my car and can't roll back I decided to try cleaning up all grounds and other connections by battery tray under the hood. No dropouts so far but has only been a couple of months.
