You mention car smoking in the mornings after sitting overnight, and that's a classic symptom of valve stem seals letting oil down into the cylinders.
It may still be happening after car is warmed up but the catalytic converter takes care of it then. The morning smoke is the accumulated oil that dripped down from the head overnight, and a cold cat not combusting it.
So much for the exhaust smoking. You also say it sometimes smokes around the turbo.
Turbos don't tend to leak oil out onto their exteriors. Could oil be getting down onto the exhaust from a leaky valve cover gasket?
Turbos are tough. I did have one go massively bad, a cloud of oily smoke in the exhaust, car undrivable. It was a sudden failure and I haven't pulled it apart to see what went wrong yet, just swapped in a clean used one from the junkyard. No trouble from it.
