It is possible to install the right rear caliper on the left side and vice versa. If this happens the bleed nipples are turned at a downward angle instead of an upward angle, and that makes it impossible to get all of the air out. I'm not going to say how I know this.
The motive bleeder will work without putting fluid in the bleeder. Just fill the reservoir to the top, pump up the motive bleeder, and stop bleeding before the fluid level reaches the MIN mark in the reservoir. Less mess to clean up this way.
