About 3 miles from my house this evening. Had a nice walk home in the rain :( I drove it home about an hour later, after the engine cooled off some. Why would the bracket fail like that? The last few days, the A/C has been kicking on very hard. I actually had been not turning it on when at highway speeds because it didn't seem right. Could this happen from an overcharged A/C system? I added some refrigerant about 4 months ago to see if it would improve the A/C temp. I just put on a new belt and pulleys about a month ago. That was because the previous belt mysteriously shredded itself. I figured that was from a leaking front engine seal getting the belt oily. Now I don't know :( Maybe its time to ditch this car. I have two other roadworthy vehicles. Maybe time to cut my loses, I dunno. I've been driving 9000s for 10 years and this is the first time I've been left stranded.
