Eric that's just what I needed to know. Seriously thanks. It's been a massive way too long of an effort.
I'm pretty sure I've met the cursing and exhaustion requirement heh. When I first pulled the assembly from my totaled car the release bearing did seem to stay in place ever so slightly. I put a super thin layer of high temp grease on the bearing and input shaft. I noticed it wasn't staying in position. Or less so than before. The bearing and spring off the donor car are relatively new as well and they stay in position. Is there any reason why I can't use that assembly? I mean I know I should buy new but both are very low mileage.
I wondered also if I was somehow in the wrong gear and the slave was further extended that it was supposed to be.. I'll see if I can clean up the surface with some brake cleaner on a rag and see if that will keep it in position .
