These cars usually hold alignment really well, but I would have your newly done alignment checked again. You might need to have the camber adjusted. You can buy camber adjusting bolts for the struts that allow for some adjustment, and also have toe looked at. Some say these cars seem sensitive to toe. You can tell a bit about toe by looking at and feeling the outer treads on the tires. Should feel smooth and not feathered when you rub your fingers over the tread in both directions.
A side to side difference in either camber or toe from will cause wandering or a less than planted feel.
Also, it doesn't sound like you replaced the rear bushings on the front control arms. These can make a huge difference in feel. And if they are squishy the car won't feel right on the road. The alignment can be right, but if these bushings are too soft the car won't feel right--know this from 12 years in a 9K. My indy usually recommends people replace the stock rubber bushes every 50K. May be overkill, but I know it makes a difference. The poly bushes add some vibration but in my experience tighten up steering feel.
My '96 CSE has the Sport Chassis kit (Aero springs/struts/shocks) and 25 mm SAS bars. Polly control arm bushings. Still feels great at 229K, but toe seems a bit out, so is due for an alignment.
