Well, my high beams weren't working. When I'd switch them over it would spike the alt. gauge by 3 or so volts. Then it went to a stuation where I'd hit the high beams and the low beams would get just a bit brighter but not switch to actual high beams.I searched the boards here and found the explanation on the solder joints cracking in the orange headlight control relay. Set up my solder gun, took the relay apart and did the soldering. Re-installed in car and..PRESTO! problems solved! Whoo-Hoo!
A day later I go in to play my KISS pinball machine in my home bar and notice that the score displays are kinda fluttery and some digits are not fully lit. Truth be told, this problem has always plagued the machine since I've owned it. Some days there's no issues, some days you can't read the scores. As I stood there, I thought to myself, wait a minute, I wonder if the same thing that just fixed my SAAB will fix this? I took out one of the displays and got out my magnifying glass. Sure enough, the solder joints all had cracks in them where the glass display joined the circut board. Re-soldered all terminals and Presto! The display works flawlessly again. Repeated the process on all four displays and now not only is my 9000 straightened out, so is my pinball machine! Thank you SAAB message board. You've saved the day once again AND fixed my pinball machine as well! Bob
