Hello kindly 9000 owners,
I wonder if someone might be able to say what might be the problem with my SAAB 9000 from 1997.
A few nights ago the check engine light came on, but my husband was driving and I just thought that it was nothing, as it flashed on and off once.
I took the car out the next day (Tuesday) and it was fine. As I was nearly out of fuel (I had been using medium grade but upped it to super as I wondered if that was the problem)I filled it up. The check engine light still came on and stayed on, but I thought that might be just a short in a fuse.
Today I went into town, and driving back on the near flat (small up and downs, but no hills), the car started to do the same thing, shuddering as if it was 'missing' (a word I remembered from when I drove a car with manual shifting of the gears). It stopped when I slowed right down (from 45 mph to about 25 mph) and I thought that it would not make it up the hill that I was about to attempt as there is no other way home. But, it was fine going up the hill and did not shudder once. I kept it at a low speed.
That is my worry! Any comments on what this might be, would be much appreciated.
Mary
