I purchased a Nakamichi NA250BTR CD Receiver from Crutchfield. I could not get it to quiet down with all the line noise; It also had trouble with freezing - had to remove the faceplate to reboot. Using a line output converter dulled down the noise but seriously neutered (ruined) dynamic output.
I exchanged it for a Kenwood unit that works quite well - no noise and no LOC.
Either I got a bad Nakamichi unit or they're junk. At the time, the Nakamichi HUs were the best looking (least disco in Las Vegas-esque), but performance killed the deal.
I ditched the harness adapter and hard wired mine to the Nokia underseat amp with good results. I'm now tinkering with a Harman Kardan kit, still working on tuning it.
