The core in my '95 was leaking but there was no leak into the car or fogging of the glass. Ditto on my '96 (still a daily driver). I was losing some coolant but not into the car. At your mileage it is something you'll never have to do again, so buy the kit and set aside 3-4 hours.
My '96 was done under an extended warranty but I did the '95 myself. It's not a terrible job, just requires some patience. My procedure is below and is for a '93 or later model. The Fix My Saab procedure someone else lists misses steps and leaves out info. Also tells you to do stuff like removing the hood, which is totally unnecessary.
