Dana, thanks for your thoughts. I think doors will have to be taken apart. I also discovered that my locking switch has some issues regarding its labor contract--it decides when it will work and when it won't. So, although this is a generic term, it might be electrical contacts. I'm sure all locks will benefit from the lube. The strangest connection is to the trunk. The driver's door and trunk are definitely connected 'cause they locked up simultaneously. I love the elegance of Saab engineering because it usually points to a specific thing. I just wish I knew what electro-gizmo has failed in order to create the reaction that Swedish engineers dreamed up three decades ago. Just did a bearing and break job so the grease relief will be welcomed. Send any other thoughts--and man I appreciate this bulletin board.
