This week would have been ideal to work on this project, particularly today, but as it happens I've been too busy with work. Since I don't need the car right away it's not worth working outside in cold weather which is fast approaching. The car is sitting on jack stands placed at the jacking points, with the tires bagged and put away in the garage. One way or another I'll report on how this works out in the end. (Heck I'm sure I'll need some advice along the way. All the info I've found so far is for R&R of the manual trans for clutch replacement.)
On this car I've recently done radiator, serpentine belt with pulleys and tensioner, fuel pump and filter, new tires, new pads and rotors front and rear. Water pump is also pretty recent. Aside from the transmission it currently needs a new coolant reservoir and fuel line fixed at the fuel filter. So if this works out and I take care of the other minor repairs it should hopefully be OK for a while. (If it doesn't work out I'll have a bunch of recent parts for the other 9000!)
If my car is any indication you should have over 100,000 miles left in your automatic trans, so hopefully no worries. :) Just change the fluid regularly and don't beat on it too hard!
