Maybe more helpful:
The MK-II ABS systems, used in TCS cars and early ABS cars, run the left and right front brakes as the two master cylinder circuits and the rears receive a third circuit that is servo only, no direct connection to the pedal. It uses a pressure accumulator and a high pressure pump, no vacuum booster. I loathe this system from both a drivability and safety standpoint.
TCS doesn't really interact with the ABS system that much, but the TCS cars have the Mk.II abs system. TCS of course, has it's own issues, mostly around the electronic throttle body and the pedal position sensor. I would suggest it be avoided, but others are really happy with it.
The late (Mk. IV) ABS system, uses the traditional (for saab) diagonal split braking, and a vacuum booster. I would consider it the preferred system. It behaves as well as the pre-ABS brakes in my experience.
