Unfortunately it doesn't look like you can get Interstate 34R batteries with the green top anymore. I ended up buying a battery from Advance Auto because I had a discount coupon. I still have (2) 9000's with the Interstate 34R and one with the Advance battery.
AGM question for the experts out there: I had a Sears Platinum AGM battery in a car that sat for 2 years and the battery was dead as a doornail. I put a charger on the AGM battery and the amperage never dropped off and it boiled some of the liquid out of the battery. I tested the battery with a voltmeter and it showed 12.4 VDC. I put a battery load tester on it and it showed "good". I hooked it up and after starting the car the alt was putting out 13.5 VDC and the battery started boiling out water when the engine was idling. I don't understand why it would boil out under a normal charging load. This battery was almost $200 and I bought it because they're supposed to be more tolerant of being discharged during storage.
