So I heard from Nick @ genuine saab that he likes to install the forge valve with the boost from the side and with a light spring. I tried that and I still had the cut off issues. Then I tried swapping my tuned ECU with another ECU I had that had a Stage 1 JZW tune and worked great in my other '97 9000. Problems are gone now... it does not cut off fuel under high boost nor stumble coming off boost.
And a side benefit is it fixed another problems. I have been having to crank it over for what seemed 5-6 seconds before it would start. I thought it was a bad fuel line check valve. But now after the ECU change, it starts right up.
And I think it makes nearly as much power as with whatever the prior tune was (it had a Maptun Stage 3 sticker on the ECU I replaced, but I thought PO said it had Stage 3 JZW tune). After the change to the stage 1 tune, it still makes around 23-24 # of boost at peak, but more importantly it runs smoothly.
