A friend of mine ordered a "genuine" Saab slave from eEuroparts last year. What he received was the Pro-parts part. eEuropart's explanation:this is now what is coming from their "Genuine Saab" parts supplier. Unfortunately, there are a number of "genuine" parts now coming from Pro-parts which are not to the original Saab spec. (brake switch is another one). I have requested eEuro to change their description so the product is clearly identified. That was last year. The OEM slave rebuild kit from Germany is still available from a UK parts supplier-these are new. They are not "old stock". We rebuilt his slave and returned the "genuine" Pro-parts. That worked very well for him. Presently I have about 130K on my rebuilt clutch slave and rebuilt clutch friction disk. Carolina Clutch did the replacement of the friction material using Sachs sourced parts which ended up having about 20% more friction material (thicker) than stock. Total miles: slightly north of 400K all on the same rebuilt X 3 slave. I am pretty impressed with the rebuilt disk. It cost $80 for the rebuild which included a test of the pressure plate and, as mentioned, has now gone 130K miles. That was more than the first two new "genuine" disks went so the extra material is an up-grade to my way of thinking. Hopefully I will get another year (35K miles) before I replace it...not sure if continuing on with a future 440 DD is smart-it's just that the car is still fast as hell and makes me smile every time I "attack" western North Carolina's mountain roads especially 181 on the way up to Boone.
