I do have a spare DI in the hatch. Kinda like an AMEX card ..... never leave home without it. Not a new, OEM but a good when removed spare. I think I have about (8) of 'em. Only (1) in MI, though. I have the TORX bit for the DI. The hunting idle is weird. It might just be losing ignition and then it comes back steady. That's what it felt like when it acted up on the highway. Or it was losing fuel intermittently. That would be an odd failure and it went away so I'm thinking it's not fueling. There's some kind of magic inside those DI's. When I start the car from a cold start I turn the key and let the fuel pump run until it stops, then crank it. It still cranks longer than any of my other 9000's. I'll probably swap the DI when I get back to the airport. Only takes a couple minutes. I just ran my oldest son through the procedure yesterday since he's driving my old green 97 CSE. I gave him one of my good spares in the nice cardboard bo and told him to take good care of it. That car has the complete tool kit in it with all the bits, etc. Even the white gloves. On another note I just saw my neighbor driving what I think is an old Saab 96. It's been sitting in this driveway for close to 15 years. Two Saab nuts on the same street...... must be New England.
