Rear brake line routing above fuel tank Posted by JerseySaab [Email] (#666) [Profile/Gallery] (more from JerseySaab) on Thu, 3 Aug 2017 10:51:41 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
In the ongoing saga of replacing the automatic transmission in my '97 CSE I finally got to the point where the car could be road tested. Unfortunately when stepping on the brake pedal it went to the floor and there was a puddle of brake fluid under the fuel filter area.
Removing the filter and looking underneath, it looks like the topmost brake line running through that area has rusted through. The lines run over the top of the fuel tank from that point and go to one or the other rear brake caliper.
I'd really rather not drop the tank if I don't have to since everything is so rusty back there. Anyone know which side that line goes to? I tried pulling on the lines to ID them but they're too firmly anchored. I'm thinking in terms of fishing a section of nicopp line through and attaching it to the existing line with unions.
