FINALLY, I got enough put back together that I could road-test the used automatic transmission that I've been working on installing in my '97 CSE since April. (This is actually the first time the car has been off of jack stands since the original trans failed in October.)
Fortunately, the used transmission seems to be working just about perfectly. Upshifts and downshifts are fine, I don't think the kickdown cable even needs to be adjusted. Not too shabby for $175.
Still a lot of little stuff to do. I didn't quite put everything back together since if the trans was no good I'd be stripping this car for parts. Plastic splash shields and fender trim need to be reinstalled as well as the underbody fairings. I need to find the cruise control servo, have managed to forget where it was put but it has to be around here somewhere. A broken sway bar link also needs to be replaced.
Oh, and in the wake of apparent EDU failure in my '95, the EDU on this car went black as well. Hitting the dashboard brought it back for now, but looks like I need to reseat the connectors there.
