How rusty is this car, in particular the area on the inner fender where the right rear shock absorber attaches to the body? This is an "Achilles Heel" area of rust formation for 9000s and you may be hearing the shock banging around. Alternatively, look at the bushing at the bottom of the shock absorber; this one seems to be the first bushing to fail, will probably require a new bolt because the old bolt may be rusted solid.
