Chances of any tech being able to tell one turbo from another is very low, though if they could or did they'd fail you. Turbos cannot legally be changed from OE. There is no CARB-approved downpipe - I don't even think there has ever been one. Unfortunately the exhaust side of the equation is still highly controlled even though the intake side is not. There is no 3" cat available for any Saab - there aren't many "PC1" (passenger car, one cat) 3" cats in the first place. I believe Magnaflow/Carsound makes a legal 2.5" cat and that's as big as it gets. If you have a lazy smog shop, you might be able to buy a 3" cat, flip it upside down so the serial/date stamp don't show, and distress it a bit. The whole "California cat" thing started around 2009, so if you had a 3" cat on your car before that it would be grandfathered in. If there is no reason to suspect it's new, they may not look for the stamps and just assume it's old. ;)
