Blowers in both cars pull the same amperage 1 Saabers Like This Post! My inductive ammeter shows a current draw of 25 amps on both cars with blowers running full blast. Since the one in the '95 CSE is practically new I'm going to take this as meaning the blower in the '97 is also OK and the problem was caused by corrosion. With that much amperage it probably would not take a whole lot to cause trouble.
I guess that 30 amp fuse was not so far out of line after all!
I'm still working the issue of the connectors with Eeuroparts. They're now saying they have not sold that part number in over a year. However it shows up on their web site as in stock and shipping. (I sent them as screen shot.) They're also having trouble locating the order since it was added by phone to an existing web site order. This is rapidly turning into more trouble than it's worth for a little over $20.
Update: Apparently the part that was ordered from Eeuroparts was #7874498, and the photo for that does match what I was sent. It may well have been my mistake though I could swear I used the part number provided here (#8547804). That's the trouble with phone orders, I can't really tell on this end. They'd probably let me do an exchange if the other part were still available but they're saying the heavier part is NLA. So I'll put these away for possible future use in low-current applications.
