Another Idea: the "Prancing Moose" Posted by Bill Homer [Email] (#3427) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Bill Homer) on Tue, 19 Jun 2018 18:41:44 In Reply to: Blowers in both cars pull the same amperage, JerseySaab [Profile/Gallery] , Tue, 19 Jun 2018 14:05:08 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
I have to say that the motor drawing 25 Amps still seems quite high, as 25A * 13.6V = 340 Watts! It's a small electric motor, not a space heater!
In any case, I'm pretty sure (no guarantees) that the connector you need is a 3.5mm female pin connector. I thought about other sources for these connectors - you can be sure that SAAB didn't invent them and wasn't the only manufacturer using them. A few miles away from Trolhatten, there is another Swedish auto manufacturer that also used them on their cars: Volvo!
Dave Barton is well known in the old Volvo community (I also own a Volvo 1800E) and has a business selling hard to find Volvo stuff, ranging from prancing moose stickers (recently hit with a stop and desist order by Volvo for using their typeface/logo) to wiring parts. Look at the link, scroll down the page to FEMALE 3.5 mm WIRE PIGTAILS. There, he sells a large version of these connectors with 2.5 mm**2 pigtail, equivalent to about AWG 13 (13 gauge) wire. If your current connectors (sic) are too far gone, maybe this will be a fix.
