Adventure with my car's AIC valve Posted by Stephie [Email] (#2399) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Stephie) on Sun, 23 Sep 2018 17:09:08 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Yesterday, I attempted to clean the AIC valve in my 1995 4 cylinder 9000 CDE sedan. There was a link from Jersey Saab that I read. He posted some pictures that made it seem pretty easy.
OMG no. It was not easy at all. Not for me, anyway, although I should be able to do it again in far less time. Anyway I ended up removing the battery and much of the plumbing and electrical stuff nearby to get to where I could even SEE the valve.
I found that the electrical connection to the back of the AIC valve was not connected. "Aha," I thought. But no, the idle speed and roughness remained after I got it all back together.
So I have a question. Will the car run with out the electrical connection to the back of the valve plugged in? Did the connector just fall off when I removed the valve?
There is no performance difference.
Maybe I need a new AIC valve. Maybe it was not working before and it's just not working now.
Do any of you have any ideas?
Thank you
