Your measurement of 30mA should be fine and not totally drain the battery. How old is the battery? Note that when they fail, it can occur overnight.
Normal lead-acid batteries in 9000s don't typically last more than a couple of years in my experience, probably due to their ho location and much vibration. I am having better luck with an AGM battery I put in several years ago.
