I bought the Group 41 Bosch from Pep Boys last night. With the discount it was $103 bucks out the door. I think it was the same battery I bought and returned last summer. The date code was from March and it's the only one they had. I put it on a 2A trickle overnight and checked it with my battery tester and it checks good, no surprise there. This battery carries a 36 mo free replacement and a 96 month limited warranty, which is the best of all the regular lead-acid batteries I looked at. I was hoping to squeeze a Group 78DT in there for the extra capacity but the terminals aren't recessed and I think it might stick up too far. That's the same battery that's in my truck. The guy behind the counter thought the Bosch was manufactured by East Penn/Deka. I believe those were reported to be decent. I thought it was a JCI. The 34R Interstate Megatron II it replaced had a date code of 10/13 so it made it 5 years.
