4 speed leaks Posted by boot_sequence [Email] (#178) [Profile/Gallery] (more from boot_sequence) on Sun, 5 Nov 2017 15:27:25 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Having trouble with my '78 turbo 99 leaking after new gasket fitted at the front chain cover/motor mount ear and with the small inspection plate.
I used new gaskets from a 5 speed kit and sprayed the gaskets with copper gasket.
After I found it leaking SAE 10w 30 conventional motor oil, I removed both of these and cleaned up the gaskets and re sealed with black high temp gasket maker.
Leaks the same amount of oil in the same two spots.
What I did NOT do is apply sealant to the bolts while going in as they do not appear to make contact with the inside of the oil chamber and have an exposed exit.
Any ideas?
