Thanks for your response and offer Kansas. As you have suggested I will add to this posting as I go along with the rebuild. I do have a new OEM master cylinder for comparison, but at this point in time I wish to keep it on the spares shelf. I checked with one of the local auto parts store here with the kit numbers that you have supplied me (Girling 682 LSSB 123 & Lockheed LK 11238). They are bringing in a kit tomorrow that crosses over to your Girling # and I will compare it with the original bits and my Beck/Arnely kit # 071-1671. In addition I have also found some info that the following kits/# may also be correct, but I am not certain at this point. (If anyone has any experience with any of these kits please add your two cents by replying to this posting with your comments.)

GIRLING # SP1963 (Lucas #275)- listed to fit Saab 95 & 96 Saab V4 Saab 97 Sonett, as well as certain applications for: Triumph Herald - Spitfire - Lotus - Lotus elite - Ford Cortina - Hillman - Hillman imp - Sunbeam - and others.

Lockheed # SSB936 (#1256)- listed to fit Saab 95 from 1969 through 1970, and 96 from 1969 through 1970 with Lockheed unit; Hillman Super Minx from 1962 through 1967.

The B/A Kit # 071-1671, according to my Beck/Arnely parts book is listed for 1969-74 Sonett, 1969-80 99, 1978 99T, 1986-90 9000 & 9000T Note: some comments posted on the Saabnet indicate that this kit is not correct for this (95,96 & Sonett) application.
