I have purchased a 1968 VSAAB 96. The transmission had been changed before I got it. At the time is wasn't running. Now that it is running it will shift into 1st and reverse without any problem but I can't engage the other gears. There is no grinding or anything. I just can't seem to locate the higher gears. Does anyone have an opinion on this. I have heard that the gear shift lever may be out of position but I am not sure how this can be checked. Any help on this matter is greatly appreciated. Thank you, Donald.
