How are you, Eric?

Thanks for the response.

Before reading your post/suggestions, I already cut out the bottom.

There was so much crud in the tank, that I am not sure if all of it could have been removed otherwise.

I rinse the tank several times prior, and still heard crud shaking:although I did not try the marble procedure. The drain depression was filled with cement-like crud. This is a 2 stroke tank: hence perhaps the petrol and oil could be the reason.

I am glad that I cut it, they were several pinholes, and even though the floor was still soild: although decorated with craters(premature pinhole sites)what concerned me was the small square enclosure/chamber that the pick up tube enters. They are tiny holes that allow petrol/oil mix to enter that enclosure so fuel/oil can reach the engine.

I am not sure if Saab change the tanks with the V4 engine. I'll post photos I am sure the sealer would have done the job, yet with all the negative things reported about sealers, I was on the fence.

I can see sealer clogging those tiny aformentioned holes in the enclosure. I will not use sealer. I'll send some photos.

Thanks Eric.

Kari
