Clutch Slave/Clutch master
Posted by Randy 69/96 (more from Randy 69/96) on Mon, 9 Jan 2012 09:03:31

Hi everyone,

I was out driving yesterday, and noticed my clutch pedal become weaker and weaker until I could not shift the car. I got it back home, and noticed that the fluid was low in the reservoir, and some fluid pooling on the transmission case near the slave. How difficult is the clutch slave replacement with an owner of modest skills (me). I have been told from the description that this is probably the issue. Should I also rebuild the clutch master while I'm at it? how difficult is this part to deal with? What type of replacement fluid? Castrol LMA? Dot 3 or Dot 4 brake fluid?

I would appreciate some advice, and would like to know if there are any things to look out for when replacing or repairing these parts. I thought I would give it a shot myself and see if I could do it.

Thanks in advance,
Randy
