Is my clutch slipping? '73 96 V4 Posted by BAAB [Email] (#1214) [Profile/Gallery] (more from BAAB) on Sat, 26 Oct 2013 16:18:26 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
I noticed it in 3rd gear - when I accelerate hard I hear the engine rev a little higher than usual but the car doesn't move fast enough to match what the engine is doing, and what I am used to. Eventually, the car "catches up" and it feels normal. I have experienced clutch slippage before and this feels different. The slip feel is minimal. It just started today. Could this be something other than the clutch? It acts the same no matter if free wheeling is engaged or not. Could the clutch pedal adjustment help? Is it possible for oil to be getting on the clutch? If I drive the car easy, how long can I drive the car? This is a new experience for me in a 96, and I have felt clutches wear/slip in a 96 before. Ideas? MuchThanks!
