I have this conversion on my '68 Deluxe. It's as BobD says. The main improvement is in braking due to the dual piston calipers. You can use front pads from an MGB and that means more aggressive compounds are available. Secondly, there's a bigger assortment of wheels. The steel 4 bolt wheels are said to be stronger as well. The stock mounting bolt looks just like the ones for the 5 bolt, but they are actually slightly bigger in diameter (5/8" vs 9/16").
The one drawback is that the brake rotors are hard to come by. The last set I got came from Sweden. I heard that Jack Lawrence may have machined a few sets recently.
