I did locate the hole. It was very small and I didn't have the appropriate punch one might need to it that way. I have an original factory manual though and I did not see anything in there about getting the tranny unstuck?? In addition the only exposed part of the tranny through the cab is that very tip of the threaded tapered part. I saw no benefit to using a punch from that angle. I would probably need to see a picture or someone doing it in person. Your way worked great without damage to the threads.
