If it is in good condition. Make sure you have no leaks anywhere - pressurize the system to 10 lbs. both hot and cold. Make sure you have a correct thermostat, or even remove it. examine the radiator fins for corrosion -- if the fins are corroded they can't transfer heat from the tubes. Does you car run hot going up hills? or is it just the longer you drive it the hotter it gets? If you turn on the heater will it cool down? Is the car running lean?
The last thing I would do is put in an aftermarket radiator because it just messes up the originality of the car. I have driven these cars with the original cooling system on 100 degree days and they worked well.
